We all know that Hollywood plays favorites! In this series, Dr. Gauthier examines some of the most famous Hollywood snubs and asks for your opinion on “why the hate.” Feel free to watch the films mentioned in advance, or just come to hang out with other Randolph cinephiles! Each session takes place from 6-7pm on Zoom.
July 9: Hollywood vs. History (with Special Guest, Dr. Gerry Sherayko)
From Titanic to Schindler’s List, Hollywood has a deep and abiding love affair with history. But is it really history? It is “Hollywood history,” and that is something entirely unique; sometimes it seems like Hollywood ignores the facts. Dr. Gauthier and Dr. Sherayko talk about their favorite film versions of historical events and you can share yours too.
